The local area has some fantastic walking oportunities...mile upon mile of rolling countryside is yours to explore. Just down the road you will find the famed "Robin Hood Stride"( pictured above ), a known training climb for Everest.  Experience a climb with an instructor, maybe.

Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and Haddon Hall, a medieval manor,  famous for their period and medieval films and dramas are both within 6 miles.

Chatsworth House is also famous for its Game Fair , held in September, it's Horse trials, and concerts, and more recently, the house and gardens open to celebrate Christmas.

The Painted Hall, the works of art  and the fountain are sights to behold.

Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey, Bolsover Castle with it's festivals , jousting, and Food Fayre and many other histoic buildings are in the area.

Local villages hold various fetes, the  Pancake race in Winster, the Shrove-tide football in Ashbourne, Garden Open Days and the Celebration of  the Well-dressings ( unique  to Derbyshire Villages ), in Youlgrave, Moneyash, Eyam and many other villages.

Bakewell holds it's world famous Agricultural Show and carnival in the Summer + it's Art and music festivals. Ashbourne and Wirksworth market towns also celebrate art and music festivals ,which are becoming more popular each year.

Buxton with it's Opera House and Pavilion Gardens, holds it's Music Festival and Food and Craft Fairs, the Blue John  Caverns, Crich Motor Museum, Peak Rail, and the Studio of  PollyAnna Pickering, Wild-life artist  are also close by.

The Heights of Abraham and Matlock Bath are 12 miles away.

Chesterfield , with it's Crooked Spire and Medieval market, held at bank Holidays is 14 miles.

The world renowned Lathkill Dale, Bradford Dale, Monsal Head and Dove Valley and a myriad other attractions are also within driving distance.
